Rabbi Danielle Upbin is a teacher, vocalist, story teller, performer and avid outdoorsy type. She is all about Joyous Judaism. She enjoys sharing her love of Jewish spirituality and tradition with students of all ages. Upbin is originally from NYC, where she was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and holds a BA in Political Science from Barnard College.

Residing on the West Coast of Florida since 2002, Upbin is a spiritual leader at Congregation Beth Shalom in Clearwater, FL. You can also find her online at myjewishlearning.com, where she is a regular contributor and community educator. Her weekly Tuesday morning sessions in meditation, sacred text, and prayer have been enjoyed by thousands of people all over the world. She also developed "Journey into Jewish Spirituality" with MJL, a popular on-line course.

A professionally trained singer, Upbin released her debut album in 2012, entitled “Reveal the Light”, a compilation of Hebrew chant and original songs, and has released several other musical tracks and videos. 

 

In 2017, inspired by her experience with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, she became a certified yoga instructor and meditation teacher.  She weaves mindfulness and contemplative practice into experiential Jewish studies classes and workshops.
